I’ve WRITTEN my first children’s book, Courage Takes Practice, now I need to illustrate it.
It's about a young Latin American artist living in the rural American south and how she battles bullies and inferiority complex. The main character, Emily Digno Soñador, which translates to "Worthy Dreamer," finds her place in the world by making art and standing up for the things she loves. (Not-so-loosely-rather-real-tightly based on my own childhood.)
This is my attempt at blending my past with my present in the only way I know possible: with illustrations.
